Piraeus 20 February 2014 – UGS 1st CSO Maritime Security Workshop

In a fast changing maritime environment, new needs and challenges continuously emerge.

We at United Guards Services Ltd., always trying to keep the Maritime Community properly informed, had the great pleasure to hold our 1st CSO Maritime Security Workshop, in our Training Centre Facilities in Piraeus.UGS 1st CSO Maritime Security Workshop

This unique initiative marked the beginning of UGS Training and Informative series of events, which aim to offer our partners and clients a comprehensive and continuously updated reliable information on the major maritime security issues worldwide.

This 1st CSO Maritime Security Workshop focused on the increasing maritime crime incidents within the globalized marine environment, the key players at international level and potential initiatives.

Coordinator was Dr. Ioannis Chapsos, Research Fellow in Maritime Security at Centre for Peace & Reconciliation Studies, Coventry University, UK and Vice President IAMSP (International Association for Maritime Security Professionals).

It was very encouraging to see the active participation of high level shipping executives and professionals and their substantial interest in the major issues of maritime security.

We at United Guards Services Ltd. would like to express our sincere appreciation to all distinguished participants for their attendance and active involvement in this first attempt for something new and – we believe – highly contributing to the efforts for continuous quality in maritime security, which we firmly focus on.
